had to log back on here to find an old image. looks bad
i’ve been getting on here less and less frequently for a pretty long while but i thought i should just give it some closure and say that i won’t really be using tumblr anymore. i’ve gotten a lot older since i got this blog in high school (just had my 25th birthday! yikes) and it just seems like the tumblr chapter of my life should be long closed now. there’s a pretty sizable age difference between me and a lot of the people on tumblr now, so it would be weird for me to continue being active on here. cutting back on spending time online has also been really good for me in terms of coming out of my shell in real life a bit and having normal healthy friendships and relationships. if anyone has been wondering what i’m up to, i’ll be starting a master’s degree program in evolution & ecology this fall, still working with freshwater fish. i live with my 2 best friends, and i’m in a really great relationship with someone who lives a 10-minute walk from my house. i’m still skating as much as possible and occasionally working at the skateshop still too. i’m still facing the same brain/”mental health” problems but i have been putting a ton of effort into managing them better. depression and anxiety and trauma are always gonna be things that are with me, but i’m a lot happier and healthier now than i have been in the past.
all that aside, i’ve really enjoyed getting to meet and talk to a lot of incredibly kind, talented, and interesting people on this site. i would definitely want to still keep in touch with anyone i’m mutuals with. i am still active on my instagram https://www.instagram.com/neils.posts.900/ and can be reached there! thank you all for everything over the years. i’ve genuinely enjoyed wallowing in our own misery together.

crazy how tearing open a package with your teeth is the most primal you can get in a capitalist society.
